About – Courtenay | Comox

Wellnessnews Choices for Healthy Living® was first launched in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 2013. Founder Anna Luinenburg recognized a need to help local health practitioners get their marketing messages into medical office and hospital waiting rooms.

“While spending countless hours in many doctor’s offices with my father, I observed too many people sitting…waiting, looking for that “quick fix” to their health problems. There are so many natural modalities offered in each community, it was just a matter of how to get these experts’ natural health tips into the hands of the people who are looking for options to better their physical and mental health,” Anna explains.

Our Mission  Wellnessnews Choices for Healthy Living® aspires to help local communities discover natural and alternative solutions to improve their health and well-being. This neighbourhood collective offers an informative resource that showcases local health practitioners and businesses to help our communities achieve this common goal. Our cross-media marketing tool includes print, social media, and online platforms.

Wellnessnews Choices for Healthy Living’s® definition of “healthy living”:

“Healthy living means making positive choices and taking ownership and action to improve and enrich one’s personal life in all key areas: physical, mental, and spiritual health.”

Our definition aligns with how the Public Health Agency of Canada defines “healthy living”:

“At a population level, healthy living refers to the practices of community groups that are consistent with supporting, improving, maintaining and enhancing health. As it applies to individuals, healthy living is the practice of health-enhancing behaviours, or put simply, living in healthy ways. It implies the physical, mental and spiritual capacity to make healthy choices. The Integrated Pan-Canadian Healthy Living Strategy focuses on healthy eating, physical activity and their relationship to healthy weights.”

Wellnessnews Choices for Healthy Living® brings communities together to offer personal health and wellness support for you!
