Cannabidiol or CBD is a naturally occurring component of cannabis extracted from the cannabis plant. CBD is not psychoactive and does not produce the ‘high’ of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). All cannabinoids, including CBD, produce effects in the body by attaching to receptors in the brain or immune system. The human body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that produces some cannabinoids of its own and receives and translates signals from cannabinoids. The ECS helps to regulate functions such as sleep, immune-system responses and pain. CBD directs the body to use more of its own cannabinoids to produce the therapeutic effects associated with CBD.

Ready for Fall Weather?
Fall is here and so is the wet, colder weather. Walking after a rain fall can be risky. Many walkers do not realize how slick the leaves on the ground can be. Wearing proper shoes and using Walking Poles can help reduce the chances of slipping and falling. Make sure that your footwear also provides support for your ankles. Using a pair of Walking Poles allows you to enjoy nice long walks with friends no matter what the weather. New to Walking Poles? Come for a free Walking Pole Seminar. Keep doing what you love to do!
Reimagine Mobility
A mobility scooter is a lifestyle-enhancing vehicle that can help you rediscover a sense of freedom and mobility. To get the most out of your scooter, you need the right one for you and your lifestyle. Things to consider include: – Can it be transported by car, taxi and plane? – Does it come apart and go back together easily? – Are the parts light enough to lift? – What are the weight restrictions? Take into account the things that you transport on a regular basis not just your own weight. Mobility scooters may be covered by extended health care plans.

How Do Hearing Aids Help?
Most people with hearing loss can be helped by daily use of properly chosen and properly fitted hearing aids. Current hearing aid technology is very sophisticated and effective. A trial period of several weeks with hearing aids allows you to experience amplification. Your hearing care professional will coach and explain the process as you go. If you suspect hearing loss, reach out to your local Hearing Care Professional for help with your hearing and have your hearing tested. We recommend that all adults over fifty years of age should have a baseline hearing test. Call for a complimentary hearing test and consultation.
Community Profile: Paul Manley, MP
Lack of trust in elected representatives contributes to anxiety, anger, and political apathy. Paul Manly is committed to changing that. As the MP for Nanaimo-Ladysmith, he set a new standard for transparency, accountability and accessibility. Each week Paul was in Ottawa, he posted a report on PaulManlyMP.ca detailing his meetings, what he spoke about in the House of Commons and how he voted on important legislation. Back home, he hosted ten non-partisan community meetings across our riding, where he reported to constituents about his work, and opened the floor for questions, issues, and concerns. Paul will continue these practices regularly for as long as he is our MP.
Symptoms of a Concussion
Many of us have suffered a concussion or know someone who has had one in the past. A loss of consciousness and vomiting does not mean a person does not have a concussion. One of the most common symptoms of a concussion is a headache. If the headache is still present over a month later, other things may be going on. An upper neck misalignment can also cause headaches. If you have had a concussion and are still suffering from headaches, talk to an upper neck chiropractor to see if you have a misalignment present.
