Where Joy Blooms

This December, let joy take root and bloom with the magic of Christmas. At Roy’s Florist, we believe every bouquet is more than a gift – it’s a gesture of warmth, care, and celebration. Whether it brightens a cozy home, adds charm to a festive table, or brings comfort to someone recovering in a hospital room, each arrangement carries a wish for happiness. This Christmas, celebrate the season with the beauty of flowers, and let nature’s simple grace remind us that joy, like blooms, grows when shared. Roy’s Florist wishes you a wonderful and happy holiday season.

Confident Smiles This Holiday

Holiday gatherings are full of laughter, delicious food, and memorable conversations. For denture wearers, enjoying these moments comfortably is important. Well-fitting dentures allow you to eat seasonal favorites and smile confidently in photos without worry. Regular care, cleaning daily and visiting your denturist for check-ups, helps prevent discomfort or slipping during meals. With the right fit and care, dentures won’t hold you back from the holiday fun. Enjoy every bite, toast, and smile with confidence this season.

The Gift of Prescence

Visiting family and loved ones during the holiday season brings warmth, comfort, and a sense of belonging to Care Home residents who cannot be with their families during the Holidays. These visits brighten spirits, ease feelings of isolation, and strengthen emotional well-being. Whether it’s reminiscing over shared memories, recalling long standing Family Traditions, or simply enjoying each other’s presence, the time spent together is deeply meaningful. Even brief or virtual visits show love and care—reminding residents they are valued, remembered, loved and never alone during this special time of year.

A Season of Compassion

As Christmas approaches, it’s a time to open our hearts — not only to friends and family, but also to the animals who rely on our care. Local SPCAs work tirelessly to provide warmth, safety, and love to abandoned or neglected pets, especially through the cold winter months. Donating food, blankets, or funds can make a world of difference. This season, share the true spirit of Christmas — compassion, kindness, and a helping hand for every paw in need

Winter Home Hazzards

Winter weather can quietly impact your home and health. Poor insulation and blocked vents trap moisture, leading to mold and mildew that trigger allergies and breathing issues. Frozen pipes, roof leaks, and condensation can worsen air quality. Regular maintenance and proper ventilation help prevent these cold-season health hazards.

Avoid the Winter Blues

The Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines suggest adults should perform at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise per week, as well as two sessions of muscle and bone strengthening activities, to achieve physical AND mental health benefits. With winter coming, and the challenges of leaving home, this can seem daunting! Your physiotherapist can tailor an exercise program designed specifically for you to do inside with minimal space (to help avoid the cold weather!), and with equipment everyone has around their home. At 30 minutes per day, the benefits of exercise are countless, while the side effects are minimal.
