Decluttering and Creating Flow

Did you know that our physical environment can affect our mental state? A cluttered countertop or disorganized closet can make us feel uneasy or change our mood. Here are some ways to improve the organization of your home and create a proper flow, free of physical (and mental) barriers. 1) Declutter countertops in your kitchen and bathroom. 2) Keep hallways free from clutter. 3) Consider using round tables in your home. 4) Choose furniture that properly fits the room it’s in. 5) Use a similar colour palette throughout the house. 6) Let the light in by not blocking any windows.

Tree of Lights

The BRHC Foundation’s Annual Tree of Lights campaign will run through the month of December. You can memorialize or honour someone special this holiday season. For a minimum $15 donation (tax receipt will be issued) the Foundation will:
• Hang a personalized tag in memory or honour of a loved one on the “Tree of Lights” located in the BRHC atrium.
• Turn on the lights on the evergreens that are located in the traffic loop at BRHC.

Fighting the Flu

When you have the flu or are not feeling well, the best thing for you to do is make yourself cozy and to rest comfortably at home while you recover. Drink plenty of fluids, get lots of rest, use a humidifier and make sure you have flu season health essentials on hand, including: Acetaminophen for fever, headache and minor aches and pains. Decongestants to relieve congestion and clear nasal passages. Sprays or lozenges to soothe a sore throat. Speak with your Pharmasave pharmacist about flu shots, prevention, appropriate symptom relief and other ways to stay healthy this flu season.
