Maintaining Brain Health

When it comes to brain health, it’s always better to try to prevent any future problems rather than deal with them once it’s too late. Some ways you can help to prevent cognitive decline include: 1) Keep your fuel stable – Avoid sugary, high carb foods to minimize glucose spikes, which tax your system greatly. 2) Exercise regularly – Some exercise is better than none, especially as we age. 3) Get enough sleep – Most of the cleaning and repairing functions in the brain occur during sleep. There can be severe consequences when we try to skimp on that essential self-care step!

Time to Quit Smoking

May 31 marks World No Tobacco Day, a day that the World Health Organization uses to inform the public of the dangers of tobacco use. What better time to quit smoking? There are plenty of great reasons to kick the habit, including: lower blood pressure; better circulation; improved lung function; and lower risk of various types of cancer, stroke, and coronary heart disease. Quitting smoking can also reduce the risk of pregnancy complications and impotency, as well as can add years to your life expectancy. It’s never too late to quit and reap the many health benefits from doing so!

EMF Autism Calming Protocol

Wireless and other EMF’s play a role in autism. A simple EMF reduction protocol can be implemented to see if it positively impacts your loved ones. For two weeks (10 hours a night) try the following: Turn off your Wi-Fi router at night. Keep all wireless devices out of the bedroom (phone, fitness devices, tablets, etc.). Unplug your cordless phone base station. Turn off wireless baby monitors. Lastly, turn off the circuit breakers to your bedroom. After two weeks, see if you notice a difference. You may be surprised at what it can do for your health and well-being.

Benefits of Lawn Irrigation

Dragging a hose out to the yard every time you want to water can be pain, and you may find that you can’t always reach all areas of your yard. A sprinkler system provides many benefits, including: 1) It looks much better than having a hose snaking across your yard. 2) An automated sprinkler system means you can water your lawn at the best time to ensure proper absorption. 3) You’ll save money on water bills. 4) You’ll help prevent weeds and diseases by watering at the roots. 5) Installing a sprinkler system will increase the value of your home.

Where Are You At Now?

The reality is, over the last year many lives have been devasted by loss of health (physical, mental or emotional) or loss of financial security, OR worse…loss of loved ones. On the otherhand, many have not only survived but thrived, taking challenges and turning them into OPPORTUNITIES. Which camp are you in? Perhaps you are familiar with what Henry Ford said many years ago, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re RIGHT.” So here’s to being like the little train who said, ‘I think I can, I think I can.” I for one, believe amazing things are about to happen!

Freedom at Any Age

These days the mobility market is full of possibilities. Rather than being confined to the inside of your home or relying on friends and family to take you out, consider the freedom of a mobility scooter. Battery powered scooters have come a long way and are now more affordable than ever. They provide the freedom to get around, they conserve physical energy, and they also provide you access to places you may not have previously been able to go. Along with the freedom, mobility scooters offer an element of safety.

Healing with Reflexology

There are reflex points on your feet that relate to specific organs and glands in the body. Through the application of pressure on these reflexes using specific hand and finger techniques, reflexology therapy can relieve tension, improve blood circulation, and support the body’s efforts to function optimally. The benefits of reflexology include its ability to stimulate nerve function, increase energy, boost circulation, induce a deep state of relaxation and eliminate toxins from the body. Your feet will love the pampering and you may feel calm and a sense of well-being.

IBS Awareness Month

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common health issue affecting 13-20% of Canadians. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. People of all ages are affected, and typically more women than men experience symptoms. The cause of IBS symptoms can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint, but several parasites and bacteria have been linked to symptoms, and the brain has also been found to play a large part in the condition. Bioresonance therapy is a safe and effective option for helping to provide relief from the inflammation and irritation related to IBS symptoms.
