Shopping Delivery Program

Let us shop on your behalf. Our members can phone or e-mail us with a detailed shopping list and we will go to the store for you and then deliver the groceries to your home. You can order as often or as little as you need. Some people even only order once to get that item from a store that’s too far from home or if the weather is terrible and they do not want to venture out. We do have weekly limits to the spots available (another reason why our volunteers are so important) so please contact us for more information.

Looking for Snow Equipment!

We are looking for donations of equipment for our winter services. From shovels to ice breakers and even snowblowers we would appreciate any functional equipment donation. As winter closes in we’re trying to get the equipment and staff to help fend of that mean ole Jack Frost again.

November Brain Teasers

1. What is harder to catch the faster you run? 2. A sundial has the fewest moving parts of any timepiece. Which has the most? 3. I’m tall when I’m young, and I’m short when I’m old. What am I?

Shopping Delivery Program

Regardless of age, we all need to eat. But those groceries can be heavy and the store can be busy and loud. Or you might not have time for it amidst all your other appointments and obligations. So let us shop on your behalf. Our members can phone or e-mail us Monday and provide us with a detailed shopping list and a store to go to. We will buy what you need and deliver it to you. We can even buy non-food items like yarn or cutlery. Maybe a gift for yourself or a loved one? And you’re not obligated to order every week. Some people even only order once to get that item from a store that’s too far from home. But slots are limited (another reason why our volunteers are so important) so contact us for more information.

Final Wishes – Cremation

Today, many Canadians are choosing cremation as an alternative to traditional burial. Although cremation may seem like the simpler choice, selecting cremation is just the first step in deciding how best to celebrate a life well lived. Just like burial, choosing cremation allows you to have a funeral or memorial service. Most people choose a cemetery setting for the final disposition of cremated remains. You can choose from a selection of keepsake urns, jewelry and memorial record packages, ensuring your loved one’s memory is with you forever.

Starting the Conversation

Starting a discussion about care needs with a senior loved one can be difficult. Deciding when to start the conversation is important. It is never too early to discuss what care might be needed and the desires of the person that will be receiving care. 9 out of 10 seniors want to remain in their home as they age and in-home care can help them. There are many options for in-home care, from the type of care services to the number of hours a week. Making plans before there is an emergency or sudden problem in the senior’s home helps alleviate stress for everyone.
