Overcoming Arthritis

With support, a person with arthritis may maintain daily activities and routines for a long time. Allowing even a small amount of regular, ongoing assistance can make a big difference for those living with osteo or rheumatoid arthritis. Some folks may need assistance with activities such as bathing; dressing; grooming; cleaning; cooking; traveling; or transportation. Others may welcome help to enjoy leisure activities or time with friends and family. Whether provided by family or through paid Care Professionals, some timely support will go a long way to improving quality of life for those with arthritis and other chronic conditions.

September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day — a reminder of the importance of compassion, connection, and support. Conflict, whether at home, work, or within ourselves, can be a heavy burden on mental health. By creating a safe space for understanding, we can ease emotional strain and restore hope. Remember: reaching out for help is a sign of strength. Together, we can prevent crisis and foster resilience. You don’t have to face conflict or despair alone — support is here.

Reflexology for a Stress-Free Fall

As the back-to-school season ramps up, both kids and parents can feel the stress—physically and mentally. Reflexology, a natural therapy that applies pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears, can help restore balance and ease tension. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology promotes relaxation, reduces anxiety, and supports better sleep—perfect for managing busy schedules and new routines. It can also help boost circulation and relieve muscle tension from hours of studying or commuting. Whether it’s for a student feeling overwhelmed or a parent juggling responsibilities, reflexology offers a gentle way to recharge and stay grounded this fall.

Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve warm, with Greek yogurt. Enjoy!

Reducing Cognitive Decline

Hearing involves both your ears and the brain, so it’s no wonder that hearing loss can go hand in hand with thinking and memory problems. Studies are increasingly linking hearing loss to issues such as faster brain shrinkage, earlier onset of significant cognitive impairment, and up to a quintupled risk of dementia. However, addressing conditions such as hearing loss could help prevent a third of dementia cases worldwide, per a UK research collaborative. With hearing health and overall wellness so connected, seeking regular hearing checks and addressing listening difficulties early is important.
