Maintain & Replace Dentures Regularly

Recent research (2025–2026) indicates that acrylic resin dentures release microplastics (MPs) into the mouth during daily cleaning, brushing, and eating. The quantities during normal wear are relatively low. While this exposure is currently considered minimal compared to other environmental sources, denture wearers should follow professional recommendations to maintain and replace dentures regularly to help prevent excessive wear and material degradation. I recommend: avoid overly aggressive brushing, ensure regular repair, maintenance and replacement of the dentures to help reduce the rate of material degradation and subsequent particle release. Call Accura Denture Clinic for all your denture needs.

Yay It’s May! Take Time to EnJOY!

Buds are budding, and flowers are blooming! It’s time to get out in the sunshine and smell the fresh air. Remember to take time out for yourself and enjoy this spring weather. Take time to sit, relax, connect with nature, and do nothing. Taking time for yourself will make you happier, more productive, and better able to support your loved ones. If you have a challenge planning time for yourself, connect with Permelia. As a Certified Body/Emotion Code Practitioner, she can help you release any unprocessed negative (trapped) emotions to allow you to take time for yourself.

Importance of Lower Body Health

Let’s shed some light on an area of the body that is often neglected – your lower legs or feet! If you have pain in your feet, swollen legs, dry skin, or fungal nails, then it’s time to start looking down more often. These are conditions that put you at a higher risk of falls, wounds, decreased mobility, and infection and can indicate bigger systemic problems. Your legs are the canary in the cave, so keep looking down to prevent a collapse! Contact Comfort Keepers with the idea of getting out and about using those legs. We can help with footcare as well.

Meet the Practitioner: Mariia Lataieva

A few years ago, I realized I wanted more than an office job. I wanted to make people genuinely happy, so I studied Body Sugaring. YES! The sweet art of removing hair and stress at the same time. Body Sugaring is a natural, ancient European hair removal method using sugar, lemon, and water to remove hair from the root. It is less painful than waxing and results in smooth, glowing skin. Sugaring quickly became my passion, and now my dreams have come true — I have my own cozy beauty space where every client and every treatment is special. Book Online today!

Support Your Body’s Natural Rhythm

May is the perfect time to reset your metabolism by supporting your body’s natural rhythms. Focus on simplifying: eat whole, colourful foods, prioritize protein at every meal, and hydrate consistently. As the days get longer, get outside early—morning light helps regulate cortisol and improve sleep quality. Gentle movement like walking, strength training, or yoga build lean muscle and balance hormones. its important to slow down your meals—digestion begins in a calm state. May isn’t about restriction—it’s about alignment. When your body feels safe, nourished, and supported, fat loss, energy, and clarity follow naturally. Acupuncture helps balance the body and supports digestion.

Rewiring Pain: A New Perspective

What if pain isn’t just about injured tissues, but how the brain interprets signals? Emerging science shows that pain is shaped by the brain and nervous system, not just the body. Persistent pain can continue even after healing, as the brain develops protective patterns that keep signalling discomfort. Neuromovement® offers a different approach. Rather than focusing on fixing the body, it works with the brain’s ability to change—known as neuroplasticity—to create new, more efficient patterns. This reframes pain from something “broken” to something changeable, opening the door to reduced pain, improved movement, and greater ease in daily life.
