Newest Way To Lose Fat

Zen Bodi™ created a product that will melt the fat away. Fat cells produce a vital messenger called Leptin. Leptin is the most powerful hormone that communicates to the brain that it no longer craves food, and tells the body when to start burning fat cells as energy. However, the problem starts when the fat cells begin releasing an inflammatory molecule called C Reactive Protein (CRP). CRP fuses to the Leptin molecules and blocks the brain messenger so that it tells the body it’s full. The metabolism is no longer balanced and the body goes into chaos. Zen work together to promote fat loss, control appetite and hunger, burn body fat, build healthy muscle, support healthy cholesterol levels, promote healthy intestinal function and support a healthy immune system. Make this the year you take control of your weight loss by losing the fat, keeping it off and still maintain the muscle.

Feeling Stressed?

70% of doctor visits are said to be stress related. Disturbances in your mental well-being can have a serious impact on your health. When you are under stress your body releases a hormone called cortisol at very high amounts. The long-term effects of high cortisol levels can be quite disruptive. High levels not only make you feel fatigued, they are also implicated in weight gain, poor immune response and a greater risk of developing chronic illness. While it is not easy to avoid stress, nature has provided us with nutrients that can decrease cortisol levels and balance other hormones.

One of the best medicinal plants that can help achieve this is Rhodiola Rosea. The brand name, Rhoziva™, is becoming a favourite of many naturopathic and medical doctors who are noticing its benefits. Did you know?

Canadian health data shows that 3000 Seniors die each year due to problems related to their medications, 88% of which are preventable. 18% of seniors who are admitted to the Emergency Room are because of problems with medications and seniors who take more than 4 medications are at risk of falling. It makes perfect sense to have your medications looked over by an expert who is trained to identify and address medication issues, eliminate unnecessary one’s, find safer alternatives, advocate for you at your doctor and simplify your medication list that will make you thrive! “When it comes to medications, less is more”, states Mathilda, Senior Care Practitioner.

A caregiver recently commented: “Thank you for giving me back my mom who I almost lost to overmedication.”
Another claimed: “You have saved my life!”

BearFoot Bliss

A mindful meditative walk with nature gives you a deeper connection to the land and to her healing soul. Meditation teaches you how to focus on your breath, your six senses, and to look deep into nature.  Our connection to the land relates to our connection to our higher power, how we treat the earth, how we treat other people in society and especially how we treat ourselves.

BearFoot Bliss is imbued with earthing (grounding), Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) with a much more profound emphasis with nature.  Each time you begin BearFoot Bliss you will set your intention and affirmation for the day. A meditative walk with nature increases white blood cells, stimulating the immune system to fight off disease. Studies have shown that spending 2 hours every day in nature reduces stress hormones up to 800%.

Living with RSI

Repetitive Strain Injury…if you sit for a living, or repeat many of the same tasks on a daily basis, you are at risk of a ‘repetitive strain injury’. Your biomechanics at work, home and recreation can greatly influence the risk of sustaining an injury. These types of injuries can become ‘chronic’ very easily without proper treatment, education and habitual change. These injuries can effect many aspects of your life as they may limit your physical and mental endurance.

We are fortunate in Downtown Winnipeg that many companies have taken the steps to help reduce these injuries; allowing flexible hours, adapting workstations, maintaining health spending accounts and supporting those with such injury. Health and Safety initiatives are always good value; as everyone can learn to use better postures, and even pass this information on to your children before bad habits occur.

A Solution to Cellulite is Only a Block Away

Understanding the cause of what troubles us is half the equation to finding the solution. Unfortunately, when it comes to the body, there is a lot of confusion to the cause of suffering, both in health and appearance. Cellulite is one of those misunderstood issues. Cellulite occurs when the connective tissue called fascia adheres to bone in order to create postural stability. It is a protective mechanism. Unfortunately, it creates blockages to blood and oxygen flow and the dimpling of tissue.

In order to release the problem at the root, we need to use a tool similar in density to bone-wood. Block Therapy combines the proper instruction with the proper tool to release the restrictions and improve both health and appearance of tissue. It is a real solution that is simple, efficient and affordable.

Practice Balance

Balance came a lot easier when we were kids, tightrope walking across a log, or leaping one-legged in a game of hopscotch. As we get older and spend much of our time walking on land and sitting down, we begin to slowly lose our steadiness. Like strength, balance is one of our use-it-or-lose-it skills and the cost if we fall likely won’t be a bruise or scrape but rather a break.

Whether you’re 65 or 35, the time to practice balance is now, and you can begin, today with the brand new Body Balance class at Curves.* The body balance poses require you to focus on and engage your core, so the bonuses are that they’ll help you strengthen your abs, hips, and lower back and improve your posture. Better balance not only helps prevent falls, it can raise your quality of life.

*Scheduled workouts and classes vary.
