Let the Flu Go Around You

Since mid-Fall, TV commercials have been trumpeting the horrors of the “flu season”. Public health announcements urge us to get our “yearly flu shot”.

What’s never mentioned in the “flu warning” propaganda, is the versatility and adaptability of our remarkable immune system. Once our immune system has detected a foreign protein it mounts an immediate defense, attacking and destroying the alien molecules. The memory of that particular invader is permanent, enabling a future immune response to be swift and effective.

In the real world, our immune systems can be weakened due to life habits, circumstances, and stress. And, of course, being human, there’s plenty of stress from dawn to dusk. If you do the simple things that keep you healthy and well you’ll develop a stronger immune system, and will be far less likely to “catch” something.

What’s Old is New Again

Women in Asia, Russia and Europe have been utilizing negative pressure facial cupping for rejuvenation and youth maintenance for 5000 years. This gentle, but effective treatment makes you look and feel youthful and radiant. It tones your facial muscles and reduces under eye puffiness. A natural face lift that improves the blood circulation to your facial muscles. Benefits may include the following:

  • reduce puffiness

It gives your face a lymphatic drainage and increases circulation, resulting in a clearer, cleaner, more even complexion with such beautiful color you will forget to wear makeup!

Keep Merry in the Holidays!

Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy the holidays without all the associated stress?

The anxiety we feel from last minute shopping, crowded stores and hosting family holiday dinners can easily add up and make our holidays overwhelming rather than merry. Exercise can help prevent and treat symptoms caused by stress and can defend against symptoms of anxiety, guard against depressive symptoms, and enhance psychological well-being.

Be consistent and set a reasonable, yet challenging, workout schedule. Exercising every other day may seem like an impossible task, especially during the busy holiday season. But it is exactly the commitment you need to ward off all that holiday stress and anxiety. Exercise can provide energy, rather than taking it away, providing you with the extra boost you’ll need to get everything checked off your holiday to-do list.

Tips for Safe Shoveling

There are many ways to make shoveling less difficult throughout these long winter months…

  1. Take the time to do a few minutes of warm-up activity like walking to increase your heart rate and prepare you for the activity.
  2. Wear appropriate clothing and keep hydrated to replace fluids due to perspiration.
  3. Stop if you experience sudden shortness of breath, discomfort in the chest, lightheadedness, nausea, dizziness, or severe headache and seek medical attention.
  4. When shoveling always try to plan ahead, and if you need help, simply ask for help from family, friends or neighbours.
  5. Don’t shovel or do any other vigorous activity directly after eating a meal.
  6. Always bend at the knees to avoid back injury.
Fearing The ‘Winter Blah’s’?

Therapeutic Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a safe and noninvasive therapy using a rapidly changing magnetic field to stimulate neurons in the brain. TMS is showing as a major breakthrough in treating depression in cases that are resistant to any other forms of treatment, including prescription drugs.

The physical body is the signature of the electric body. It is based on Einstein’s view of matter, which states “matter will release energy when taken apart.” This model sees the human body as a network of energy fields that co-exist and co-mingle together. Everything we do, eat, drink involves “energy” that influences the bioelectric body. It is important to be aware of everything that we put into our bodies, because disease is a manifestation of negative energy.
