Stay Healthy with Real Food

Many of us eat on the go, but most of the time we don’t think about what we eat! What are we putting in our bodies? Is it real food? Or food full of preservatives that our bodies can’t digest? Start eating real food, before any resulting body pain, fatigue, and illness occur. Eating healthy, real food can also save you money in the long run, helping to keep diseases and conditions at bay. Rather than rely on advertising for convenience foods, do your own research and try to buy fresh, local food whenever possible.

Dementia & Alzheimer’s Support

You are not alone – we are here to help. The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba is your first link to a community of support and resources for those living with dementia and their families. On our website, you’ll find easy access to knowledge, services, programs and information for every phase of your journey. Take the first step and reach out today – we have staff ready to provide a listening ear. We can help you navigate your dementia diagnosis. Look for Local

Made in Winnipeg, Bliss Gourmet Cookies are hand-crafted authentic Italian recipes that have been passed down three generations. Bliss Gourmet has strong family ties to Italian culture, instilled in the family by their father, who gave them the drive to share the traditions. Growing up in the family business, working alongside their father, the family developed the art and fueled their passion for baking. These baked goods have symbolic meaning, so carrying on their father’s recipes and legacy makes them feel closer to him. Look for Manitoba-made Bliss Gourmet Cookies the next time you do your grocery shopping at Sobeys.

Men’s Club

Did you know that Brandon Seniors for Seniors Co-op Inc. has a Men’s Club? Local volunteer men created this club to address a growing need to provide a safe space for men to meet weekly, share ideas, life experiences and provide value to Brandon. If you are interested in becoming a member, then please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] or (204) 571-2050. The group meets every Wednesday from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at 311 Park Avenue East.

Emergency Lock Box

Have you ever asked yourself, how could I be rescued if my door was locked? Time is of the essence during a fire or medical emergency. Install a Lock Box – a small weather-resistant metal box that securely holds a set of keys. Should an emergency occur while you are unable to open the door or get out of the residence, Brandon Fire & Emergency Services (BFES) can access your property without having to break-in. Contact Brandon Seniors for Seniors Co-op Inc. at 204-571-2050 for more information.

What We Offer

The purpose for our Family Programs is to invite individuals to be part of a community who are affected by substance abuse. Family members require information, skills and strategies in order to deal with their loved one’s mental health and substance use. We offer a short wait time for intakes and entering individual counseling or programing. We believe there are many paths to recovery, and are compatible with twelve steps self-help groups. We also offer Individual and couples counseling with family members who are facing issues, and not amenable to group given their situation, as well as individual and couples who may be facing an emerging crises. Our Education Group provides psychoeducation to participants about substance use, relationship and family dynamics, tools, and strategies. Our Family Support Group is a space to share info/stories, tools and strategies in a safe therapeutic setting.
