The holiday season can be fun or stressful. The choice is up to you! Here are some tips to help you survive:
1. Avoid going into debt trying to show people how much you love them.
2. If going home to see your family damages your mental health, don’t go.
3. It is OK to set boundaries and say NO to family and friends.
4. Choose happy and calm over anything – don’t fall into the crazy Christmas mindset.
5. Extend your kindness to others, for many are facing battles you know nothing about.
6. Practice self-care and make time for you.
Men’s Pelvic Health Part 1
Pelvic Floor physiotherapy can be extremely helpful to address some of the challenges that men may have when their pelvic floors are not working properly. This may include:
* Post-proctectomy incontinence
* Erectile dysfunction
* Needing to urgently or frequently go to the toilet to pass urine or bowel motions
* Accidental leakage or urine/bowel
* Difficulty emptying your bladder or bowel
* Pain in the bladder, bowel, or in your back near the pelvic floor area. These problems should properly be assessed and like all exercises, are most effective when individually tailored and monitored. Tightening or strengthening pelvic floor muscles may not be the most appropriate treatment for all conditions.

Ice or Heat?
One of the most frequently asked questions of physiotherapists is: ice or heat?
Ice is for injuries — calming down damaged superficial tissues that are red, hot, and swollen. The inflammatory process is a healthy, normal, natural one that, unfortunately, also happens to be incredibly painful. Be careful not to ice too long, as frostbite can occur.
Heat is for muscles, chronic pain, and stress — taking the edge off of symptoms like muscle aching and stiffness.
Generally speaking, ice is for fresh injuries, and heat is for stiff, aching muscles. But it’s best to seek advice from your physiotherapist as to which is best for your condition.
Access Consciousness
The target of Access Consciousness is to help get people to the point where they are conscious enough to create change within themselves, so that it is also possible to change everything that is not working for them in their everyday life. Once people begin to be more conscious, it will be easier to thrive in the face of the shifts that are occurring everywhere on the planet right now. There are courses available for helping you get real-life tools you can use and showing you how to get where you would like to be. Are you ready to invest in YOU? Trichotillomania – There is Hope!
Trichotillomania (pronounced tric-o-til-lo-mane-e-ah), also called hair-pulling disorder, is a mental disorder that involves recurrent, irresistible urges to pull out hair from your scalp, eyebrows, or other areas of your body, despite trying to stop. This condition eventually leaves bald patches on the targeted area. Trichotillomania is a baffling compulsive anxiety disorder for which there is no proven cause. People who pull out their hair might think they are alone and suffer in silence, and many will deal with depression and suffer from low self-esteem. Two methods of effective treatment are behavioural therapy and medications, which are generally used in combination.
Why Do I Procrastinate?
The weekend starts, you are excited but exhausted, you start each day with good intentions, but…now it’s the last day of the long weekend, and you have accomplished nothing! Why do you do this? The reality is, you are only human and can only do so much. It is OK to relax, it is OK to put things aside, as you are tired and burnout is real, and can be dangerous. Allow yourself to breathe, set some realistic goals, and if all are not achieved in one weekend, remember that there will be more to come. Sometimes self-care should be the priority.
Do This Before Exercising!
Warming up is an important part of physical activity (PA). It is performed prior to the main PA, such as exercising, playing sports, or working. This allows the body to increase muscle temperature by getting the blood flowing and preparing the individual for the PA. Warm-ups decrease the risk of injuries from occurring. They should be body-specific to the demands of the activity. For example, an individual going for a 5k run during the fall season should ensure that the lower body muscles are warmed up by performing hamstring sweeps, lateral wall leg swings, a five-minute walk, and then a five-minute jog.

New ARGI+® provides all the power of L-Arginine, plus pomegranate, grape skin, red grape, and berry extracts for cardiovascular and immune system support. Together, these ingredients create a new generation of supplement – one that supports health throughout your entire body.
