Community Announcement
Archwood Archwood 55 Plus is a community-based non-profit, charitable organization offering lunches, art and fitness classes, social activities, bus trips and other services to adults ages 55 and older living in the Winnipeg area. Our goal is to encourage graceful aging and empower older adults to lead healthy and active lives while socializing with their peers.
Should You Consider Dentures?
If you think you’ll never need dentures because you take good care of your teeth, then it may surprise you that more than one in every five Canadians over the age of 60 have no natural teeth remaining. If you’ve already lost a tooth or several teeth, the need for dentures is immediate. The more time you go without dentures, the more risk you run of losing additional teeth. Without the support of all your teeth, the remaining healthy teeth shift faster and become weaker. Other warning signs that dentures may be in your future are: red and swollen gums, loose or moving teeth or difficulty chewing food.
Protect Your Ears in Water
The prevention of water entering the ear canal, whether from swimming or showering, is an important consideration. Oto Hearing Products produces floatable swim molds, which can prevent infections or other problems before they start, such as hearing loss at a later stage. By sealing the entrance to the ear canal, waterproof earplugs keep water out of the sensitive region inside the ear canal. Swim molds are ideal for water sports, recreational swimming, daily showering, and individuals who suffer from chronic ear infections. They are manufactured from a soft, 100% floatable silicone, which is comfortable to wear and provides a tight seal to make sure no water enters the ear.
