Understanding the Canada Death Benefit

Losing a loved one is never easy, and financial details can feel overwhelming during a time of grief. The Canada Death Benefit is a one time payment of up to $2,500 paid to the estate of a deceased person who contributed to the Canada Pension Plan. It is intended to help cover expenses such as funeral or cremation costs. Applications are typically submitted to Service Canada by the executor or a family member, either online or by mail, along with a death certificate and required documentation. While it may not cover all costs, it can provide meaningful support when families need it most.

Fresh Start Spring Cleaning

Spring is the perfect time to refresh your home and support a healthier living environment. A thorough spring clean helps remove dust, allergens, and bacteria that build up over the winter months when homes are closed up. Focus on high touch surfaces such as light switches, door handles, and countertops, along with overlooked areas like baseboards, vents, and behind furniture. Decluttering also improves air flow and reduces stress by creating a more organized space. Using safe, effective cleaning products and proper techniques can make a big difference. Our team at With Love by Beccs can help ensure your home is deeply cleaned, leaving your space fresh, healthy, and ready for the new season.

Restoring Balance After Concussion

Concussions often affect the vestibular system (inner ear), causing dizziness or balance issues. Chiropractic adjustments improve nervous system function and restore alignment in the neck, which plays a critical role in balance. Simple exercises, such as standing on one foot or walking heel-to-toe, also help retrain the brain and body to work together. Always progress slowly and under guidance to avoid setbacks. This April, make balance training and chiropractic care part of your recovery toolkit. Improving stability after concussion not only helps daily function but also reduces the risk of future falls or re-injury.

Nurturing Mental Wellness This Spring

Spring is a season of renewal, making it the perfect time to focus on mental well-being. Small, consistent habits can have a big impact on emotional health. Practicing mindfulness through meditation, journaling, or deep-breathing exercises helps reduce stress and improve focus. Maintaining social connections, even virtually, supports resilience and combats feelings of isolation. Physical activity, exposure to natural sunlight, and a balanced diet all contribute to stable mood and energy levels. Remember, seeking professional support from a counsellor is a proactive step toward understanding emotions, managing challenges, and fostering long-term mental wellness.

Emotional Release Through Massage

Emotional Release Massage Therapy is a specialized approach that recognizes how stress and unresolved emotions can become stored in the body. Muscle tension, shallow breathing, and chronic discomfort are sometimes linked to emotional strain rather than physical injury alone. During a session, gentle, intentional bodywork encourages deep relaxation while allowing the nervous system to shift out of a constant stress response. This process may help release long held tension, improve circulation, and restore a sense of calm. Many people report feeling lighter, clearer, and more balanced afterward. Emotional Release Massage Therapy can be a supportive complement to overall wellness, helping reconnect the body and mind.

Good Posture Can Prevent Pain & Injuries

Having good posture makes you look strong and healthy and it’s also a critical factor in preventing pain and injuries. For recreational activities like golf, skating, yoga or running, posture actually plays an important role in performance. Posture is critical in preventing workplace injuries that come from repetitive stress or sitting at a desk in front of a computer all day. Physiotherapists can help you discover how to improve your posture by demonstrating positions and stretches for when you start to feel the tension in your body. Make the move to see a physiotherapist!

Hidden Dangers

Leaky roofs, faulty electrical systems, mold growth, and rot aren’t just construction headaches—they’re serious safety and health hazards. Water leaks can weaken structural integrity and create ideal conditions for mold, which affects air quality and long-term health. Electrical issues increase the risk of fire, while hidden rot compromises walls and foundations. Proper Inspections, timely repairs, quality craftsmanship are crucial to prevent issues before they escalate. Attention to detail isn’t just good practice—it protects lives, property, and investments.

Helping Paws, Warming Hearts

Fostering, volunteering, and donating food to the SPCA are powerful ways to support animals in need. Foster homes offer a safe, loving space for pets to heal and thrive before adoption. Volunteers give their time and hearts, helping with daily care, socialization, and events. Food donations ensure every animal is well-fed and healthy, easing the shelter’s burden. Together, these acts of kindness create a community of care, giving every animal a better chance at life.
