Our groups are held on the first Tuesday, second Thursday of each month from 1-3, and the last Wednesday of each month from 10:30 – 12:30.
Pre-registration is required. Please contact the office by email [email protected] or phone 250-871-5940.
Men’s Dental Health
With June being Men’s Mental Health Month – a good reminder to emphasize the importance of dental health. Good oral hygiene affects speaking, eating, and social interactions, contributing to overall mental health. As one ages, issues like gum disease, dry mouth, and tooth decay become more prevalent and can be linked to chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Encourage the men in your life to maintain regular dental care, flossing, and professional cleanings. A healthy diet and open communication with their dentist about new oral health concerns are crucial. Celebrate men by supporting their journey towards maintaining a healthy, vibrant smile.

Yoga Therapy for Healthy Joints
Yoga therapy can be an effective approach for managing joint pain and stiffness by promoting flexibility, strength, and overall physical health. Through gentle, tailored movements and poses, yoga therapy helps improve range of motion and reduce stiffness in affected joints. Breathing exercises and relaxation techniques used in yoga therapy help reduce stress and inflammation, which can exacerbate joint discomfort. Specific poses can strengthen the muscles surrounding joints, offering better support and alleviating strain. This mindful exploration fosters a deeper understanding of how the body moves and feels, promoting a harmonious connection between body and mind. Yoga Therapy supports relaxation, balance, and overall well-being.
Care for Headaches
Chiropractic care offers an effective, drug-free solution for relieving headaches, particularly tension and cervicogenic headaches. Impaired movement in the spine, especially in the neck, can lead to muscle tension and nerve irritation, which are common triggers for headaches. Chiropractors use instrument assisted soft tissue tools, active release therapy and spinal adjustments to restore proper movement patterns, reduce pressure on nerves, and improve blood flow. This helps alleviate headache symptoms and prevent future occurrences. Chiropractic care also addresses underlying issues like poor posture, stress, and muscle imbalances, providing long-term relief. With personalized treatment plans, chiropractic care promotes overall well-being and helps patients manage headaches without relying on medication.
Men and Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis, a disease that renders bones porous and frail, causes over 30,000 hip fractures annually in Canada. While most people associate osteoporosis with women, around 25% of these fractures occur in men. To help prevent osteoporosis, make sure to exercise regularly, suited to your health. This will encourage bone cell renewal. If you are not getting enough nutrients from your food, you may require a dietary supplement such as calcium and vitamin D, which are crucial for bone health.
